Welcome to SmS!
Welcome to the SmS forums Steve!

Thanks to Lee's persuasive tactics over on .org, you've found our merry little group! I hope you'll be able to make our next meeting at Overstone Manor so you'll know a few faces before joining us for the Stoneleigh convoy.

Rich.

Hello Everyone

Post  StevePem on 16/2/2010, 8:17 am

Hello everyone,

I joined "Southmids" a couple of weeks ago after bumping into Lee on mg-rover.org. Unfortunately, I have been pretty busy both on the work and home front and have not made it to a meet yet. I did manage to find time to go and meet Lee and buy his Kenwood stereo

Anyway, I thought I would make time to post a quick note of introduction to me and my car. So I am, Steve, I live in Olney with my wife Maddy and drive a TF 135. I used to drive MGBs back in my twenties when I had a roadster followed by two GTs and then a break of thirty years to the TF. Mind you, in between my wife and I have had a few Rovers, (mine as company cars) and between us we have had a Mini Rose, Mini Cooper, Metro Rio, Kensington 110, "bubble" 216, 820 Saloon and a 220 "Tomkat" coupe.

My TF is a 52 plate in Silver, now done 54k and according to the service book had a HG replaced in her past as well as cam belt replaced at the correct interval. I bought the car in October 2008 and apart from a new set of discs have not had to have any work done other than normal service.

Those of you who frequent ".org" know that many on the forum share their latest mods and I started to add up the little (and some not so little) things i have done over the last 18 months and here is what I totted up:

On The Outside

  • Leon Splitter
  • Chrome washer Jets
  • Front bumper grills and engine bay grills (curently red but think I will paint them silver)
  • large front and rear grills and side grills painted red but again, soon to be silver
  • Freestyle 16" alloys
  • BAS Grenadine red hood
  • Grenadine hood roll cover (or is that on the outside?)

On The Inside

  • Genadine and black leather interior
  • Mike Satur speaker grills
  • Mike Satur seat belt tidies
  • Mike Satur steering wheel badge surround
  • Alloy vent surrounds
  • Alloy MG badge
  • Alloy heater knobs and surround panel
  • Clock & Oil pressure gauge rings
  • Speedo panel rings
  • Mirror control and dash dimmer alloy surrounds
  • Chrome look headrest springs
  • Windstop

In The Engine Bay

  • Cone filter induction
  • Cold air feed

click here to see the pictures

Perhaps I will post these on .org as well to slow down everyones pc

Anyway, I am definitely going to Stoneleigh and my son will be partnering me so hope to meet many of you then.

Cheers
Steve

I had a silver F before the Trophy and had my grills painted red too and loved them

Silver and red is a brilliant combination. Can't wait to see the car in person.

Cheers

Hi and welcome, I was thinking of DaveDs old F from your description of your TF, I bet it looks stunning, red and silver work really well, especially with a nice red hood to top it off
