ZS is being brought out of its slumber...

Post  Captain Slow on 11/10/2013, 5:51 am

To be taken to the Nurburgring!

Poor thing hasn't been driven since June, yet tomorrow morning it's being taken out of the garage, cleaned, checked over including a brake fluid change (the other fluids are around 300 miles old-Martin serviced it in April and it's barely moved...) then being hammered across Europe in the dead of Friday night/Saturday morning.

Will it make it? Tune in for updates from the Fatherland over the weekend.

It is only a long days drive to the ring.
Enjoy it!

Ferry is at 00.50 GMT, we are aiming to be there for early-mid morning Saturday. Do the tourist, viewing point, museum stuff on Saturday complete with a restaurant, then a few laps on Sunday. Food Sunday evening before heading back for a ferry at 23.45 French time.

Hopefully your have a good time, just don't push too hard otherwise your be getting a taxi home lol

I drove there and back within 25 hrs, had a 3 hr power nap on way home as I just wanted to get there, load the car on the trailer and get it home, those who are unsure by this its because I crashed one of my cars on my 2nd day on the track, I did managed to do a 8m13sec lap though on day 1 Smile

Matt I'm going for the experience, so no timing and the two laps I've got planned will be steady. Planning to drive it like a country road I don't know.

Thats what I planned but even on the first lap half way round the red mist decended and the tick of the tock began Smile Day 2 was basically just a sight seeing day and instead of driving all the way back around the track we got on half way to get back to the hotel but thats when the incodent happended, going a tad quick but also hitting a slippy patch making the back end step out at 130, oops. On the bright side it saved me spending alot more money on the car where I would have found later on the shell wouldn't have been scrap due to rust.

anyway, have a great time, car perform well?

It handled and went well -and sounded epic! Nice couple of drive by videos of the exhaust yowling, popping and snarling.

Did a sub ten minute lap which I was chuffed with, considering I had never been before.
