That engine Dave, a 2 6 2 tank locomotive looks very simular to the Hornby wind up model produced in their thousands early 1900's to 1960's although that one only had 4 wheels probably for practicle purposes.

Just thought you may like to know that. As luck would have it, last night I was surfing on Uube and came across several windup lay outs being demonstrated. The engine only did a couple of cicuits before running out of spring load. The American engine of course went much further with bigger springs.

As Michael Cane would say, 'not many people know that'.

No no no....the boy in me has NOT died........hey listen, toy collectors all over the world pay huge money for toys of yester year. Utube has some unbelievable garden railway lay outs by the way. I can admire them BUT that's all........folks
